Why Your Support Matters
The Avon Heritage Centre is a registered non-profit run by a small team and a dedicated group of volunteers. We receive partial funding from the Municipality of West Hants and the Province of Nova Scotia, but ticket sales, gift shop revenue, memberships, and donations are what keep our doors open, our exhibits fresh, and our programs free for schools and children. Every dollar you give goes directly to preserving and sharing the story of this community.

Volunteer With Us
Our volunteers are the heart of the Centre. We have opportunities for people of all ages and abilities: greeting visitors, assisting with exhibits, helping with events, tending the heritage garden, cataloguing artifacts, or leading tours.
No experience necessary — just a love of community and history. We currently have over 30 active volunteers who contribute a combined 3,000+ hours per year.
